Or the woman

The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life.

So...

I wish I had more to write tonight.

But I don't. I've been at work for 14 hours.

And I am trying not to be a "workaholic," to be assertive, to be myself, and everything in between too.

When I think about life now, I could talk about our country's fiscal responsibility, or gun control, or Malala, and I really should talk about her.

I could talk about my break up, and how I am personally changing and growing, or what I hope the new year will bring and how I am going about living my dreams.

But, I will tell it like it is. I am tired. I am going to go home and run a couple miles, and then sleep.

I am in the midst of living a life I know I will look back on, affectionately, and love.

But, for now...I guess I'm signing off to enjoy the chaos.

Sister

I think it has to be a combination of Mumford and Sons and the Holy Spirit keeping me sane these days.

I am listening to this song right now and thinking how easy it is for me to forget that the people who love me love me very well.

"Sister don't let go of us, Cause your roots will rot away, and your fruit, it won't grow.Your bark will wear thin, body hollow. I've seen the love in your brother's eyes, and the love in your mother's cries.
Sister don't test the ones you love...If you want to feel alive, then learn to love your ground."

I've come to think that I am peculiar individual, and while that may or may not be true, it is very true that the love I receive from others is truly unique - full of the delicacies and intricacies developed along the paths I've walked with different people in these short three decades minus some.

It's pretty easy to feel alone just moments after feeling connected, but lack of connectivity is an illusion, brought about by self-centeredness, probably.

Love in its many forms is nourishing, what we're built for, and I am not going to let go of it.

Equality for Women

This is the unfinished work of the 21st century, and all those times preceding it.

For our daughters to be who they are, with dignity and freedom.

Back to work.

That even awkwarder moment when you realize...

...that even though it sounds like you were making fun of him yesterday, you will actually never be as cool as NDGT. Look at the man's shirt!!!

PS - This post is dedicated to JH, who is, was, and will always be the most bad ass smart man I've ever known. Thanks for teaching me that life is what you give, not what you take.

That awkward moment when you realize...

...you've been unwittingly enlisted to be the Neil deGrasse Tyson of your workplace.

That was earlier this week. The again the day after. Then yesterday again. Oh wait, and today too!

Enough NOVA ScienceNOW for now. If you want to know what I will be doing this weekend, it will be the rest of my job.

Love, D(eGrasse)
